Beer of the Bike

This week has been a whirlwind.  The ride is tomorrow.  We’ll meet at 12noon in front of Trophy Bike Garage.  Don’t be surprised if I’m not there though, I fear to say.  Parties for 1 year olds require much more time and planning than I anticipated.

Man, this month came up quickly! The June ride is this Saturday. We’re going to attempt the same ride, to Flying Fish. So there isn’t much more to say. Lets plan on leaving again from Trophy Bike Garage at 12 noon. My youngest daughter’s first birthday party is that afternoon, so I won’t be sticking around for a picnic. But if someone wants to organize and plan that out, go right ahead. Again, please let me know if you’re coming, so that I can give the brewery a heads up.

Well, for all our talk and planning, the ride didn’t happen. If you were there you know. The forecast Sat morning was calling for heavy thunderstorms, with hail and a tornado watch. Standing in the rain in front of Trophy, we made the call to bag the ride and just grab some beers locally instead.

We enjoyed a brief wet ride to 2nd and Poplar, where those of us lucky ones had a glass of Flying Fish Abbey Dubbel Bourbon Barrel aged. It turned out to be a great time hanging out, watching the sun come out and mock our decision. To our defense though, I’ve heard that NJ got hit much harder with the storms. So we can still think that we made a good call in canceling the ride.

I think we’ll plan on trying this ride again in June. Unless there are strong opinions otherwise?
