Beer of the Bike

I daresay that this past Saturday’s ride was a success. With 15 of us meeting at the Art Museum steps and 2 more joining on the way, we rolled into the General Lafayette Inn with a crew of 17 sweaty cyclists. Many new faces, including the Beer Lass and some members of IPA.
Whoa! Team!
The ride itself was wonderful. It was a beautiful day, perfect temperature, and even the hot sun was hidden by trees on Forbidden Drive. Despite being a gravel path, its surprisingly ridable by even the skinniest road tires. A nice long climb right at the end was just enough of a challenge to make the beer deserved.

At the Inn we took over the patio, our own private beer garden. Many of us opted for flights, to sample the Inn’s various brews. I jumped right into an Abbey Brune. Much praise was to be heard for the Matrimoniale and the Abbey Blonde.

Despite the flat-ful ride home, it was a wonderful day. There are many photos here. Much thanks to the General Lafayette Inn for accommodating all of us.

Stay tuned for details on August’s ride: a citywide brewery-crawl!

This was my first ride with the group. Yeah, it was fun. Thanks. Favorite moment: hearing two cyclists passing our group and talking about emailing the Word doc on Monday. Time and a place, folks. And Saturday wasn’t it.
