Our ride this month is going to happen on Nov 29th, the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Work off some of those extra calories, and then replace them with beer. The plan is to ride out to Capone’s in Norristown. I’ll post the details and route soon. It should be about 25 miles each way, and we’ll try to get back before sunset.
Edit: There isn’t really an email list or RSVP system. But if you’d like to come, drop me a comment or email so that we don’t leave without you.

This is a bit delayed, but its taken me this long to get dry after this months ride. There was 4 of us there to brave a terribly rainy and windy ride. While only about 7 miles, the wind and rain fought to delay us, and it ended up taking about 45 minutes to ride from the Art Museum to Mt Airy. Earth was gracious, despite some odd looks as we stood at the entrance ringing our clothes dry on their floor. Thankfully, we were met there by some spouses (thanks Lois and Rose!) with cars, so we were all able to get rides home. But our efforts were richly rewarded with some delicious, and sessionable, beers. The service was a bit iffy, and would have loved to actually gotten my final glass of Biere d’Earth, but overall a good time was had by all.
Its November already, and plans are still up in the air for our post thanksgiving ride. Any suggestions?

Its supposed to rain tomorrow, but that won’t stop us! The plan is to leave the Art Museum at 4pm, so that we’ll get to Earth soon after it opens (4:30). If we’re soaking wet, the beer (and flatbread) will taste that much better. We’ll be taking something like this route. Bring your helmets and your raincoats!

This month’s ride is still up in the air. The Biketoberfest is West Philly is still an option, though I found out that there is a $25 fee. Another option, one that I’m excited for, is to ride out to Mt Airy to try out the new Earth Bread and Brewery (as reviewed by Joe Sixpack – check out the beer list!!). We could also hit McMenamins and make it a two-fer. Anyone care to chime in on which option you prefer?

So, no one showed up for the ride. No worries on my part, I hope you all had as fun of a day as I did. We’ll make up for it this month, I promise. I spoke with Mike from Dock Street at the Oktoberfest, and he told me about a bike and beer fest/block party happening in West Philly on Oct 19th. Sounds perfect to me.
It’ll be a short ride, but we’ll all need a break after our grueling non-ride to Victory.
Take note, its a Sunday, and its not the last weekend of the month. I’ll post full details as I get them, but mark your calendars now!

The Victory ride is coming up. It looks like there may be a little rain, but all in all, the forecast looks like its going to be a very autumn day.
We’re going to meet at the Art Museum at 8am, for a prompt departure at 8:30. We will hopefully get there before the crowds and have a chance to eat (and drink) before the festivities begin.
I have a route in the works, I’ll post it up tomorrow or Thursday.
If you haven’t let me know you’re coming, please do soon. Particularly if you’re planning on meeting us en route somewhere. I don’t want to miss anyone!

It seems we’ve made our way onto the links of several online calendars. Welcome newcomers!
Just to clarify some incorrect information, we are not doing the brewery tour this Saturday. We are riding to Sly Fox in Phoenixville. We are meeting at the Art Museum at 10am (not Trophy Bike Garage). Clear enough?

The plans are laid and are solid this time. Sly Fox will be ready for us and their beer is delicious. I’ve heard reports of some specialty beers on draft that you can only get at the brewery. I’ll be bringing some growlers!
The route will be taking is here: Route. Its relatively flat, with a couple of climbs just outside of Manayunk and another in Phoenixville. All types of bikes and levels of riders should be able to manage this ride without a problem. Its about 30 miles each way.
Again, we’ll be meeting at the Art Museum at 10am, leaving promptly at 10:30.
If you haven’t already, please let me know if you’re planning on coming, so that I can give the brewery an accurate number.

We have to change the plans for this Saturday, sorry for the last minute notice! It turns out that Dock St will be closed that day too. So instead of our brewery crawl, we’re going to ride out to Sly Fox in Pheonixville. We’ll meet at the Art Museum steps at 10am. I’ll work out the route and post it soon, but it will be the Valley Forge trail for most of the way.

Here is the plan for August’s ride: Saturday August 23rd we’ll meet at Trophy Bike Garage (American and George St in Northern Liberties) at 11am. We’ll be riding to 3 places, Triumph in Olde City, Nodding Head in Center City, and Dock St in West Philly. This will be a bit different than our previous rides, it won’t be round trip, and there will be time limits at each place so as to make sure we pace ourselves. There may be an unofficial after party bar-b-q for those who are so inclined.
